I really disagree with this whole “love your body” week, particularly the Mirrorless Monday. First of all, I need a mirror to put my contacts in, so that’s just annoying. Secondly, I happen to like the way I look in makeup and just because I wear it does not mean I’m insecure about my body. I am actually very comfortable with my body, but this week and event make me feel like maybe I shouldn’t be, like admiring myself in the mirror is bad. Third, covering a mirror for one day isn’t going to solve anything. All it does is make a statement that every single woman has body issues and degrades herself when she looks in a mirror and therefor needs help and support. That is completely untrue. Don’t get me wrong, I know our society is hard on women and I think we should be there for those who do have issues with body image and health. But I completely disagree that this is the correct way to do so.

I've written a petition to lower the drinking age, because the higher drinking age has led to nothing but binge drinking among young adults. The US has the highest binge drinking rate in the world and that's all our drinking culture is based off of. People think that the drinking age protects young adults from alcohol, yet it does nothing but make young adults drink as much as they can whenever they manage to get their hands on alcohol.
