I'm sick of all the prejudice I encounter on a daily basis at this school. I'm not talking about racism against nonwhites or homosexuals, either. Lets be honest - there is a HUGE stigma here against white conservative Christians. If you have a country accent and support the Republican party you're immediately ostracized and excluded from most social events and viewed as a socially backward simpleton. And don't give me that "People like me still have privilege" bullshit. Maybe that was true in the past and in some parts of the country that live in the past, but the reality is that colored people and homosexuals have many advantages in college that people like me don't have. And don't tell me to go to a different school. This university is perceived as having the one of the best anthropology departments in the state, and I am poor and can't afford to go to an Ivy league school even though I know I'm highly intelligent.

I recently moved here in January. My roommate and I were enticed by how friendly everyone seemed and we met two (what seemed like) really wonderful women the first night we visited. But after getting to know more and more people it's become more of a chore to deal with the "melting pot" of people who so incessantly throw their life journeys in your face. Every woman I talk to has to become some try-hard instead of being herself. I respect intelligence, and in fact it's something I seek out in ANY friendship, male or female, but I just don't understand where I went wrong in thinking everyone here was down to Earth and not stuck up their own ass, only to be proven wrong so far. Granted I know there are 1000s of more people to meet, but dammit Denton you're tiresome.

I have a really loving girlfriends, she's the best. Goes way beyond what I deserve in everything, even sexually (she's a 3 input girl if you know what I mean).
