I don't think little girls should be allowed to play with baby dolls. It teaches them that being a young mom is okay and fun. I also don't think that parents should be allowed to give their daughters an allowance, and fathers should not be allowed to buy their daughters too many things. I notice the things Brittany B believes in are very similar to what I hear on that W. Kamau Bell show (to cite someone who people here might actually know about), and that guy doesn't strike me as racist. I think she gets kind of annoying at times, but I think everyone should keep in mind that her viewpoint isn't really insane or racist. It's not too inaccurate to say that many if not most white people have internalized a bit of racism just by living in this country - growing up with Media that for the most part either tend to have a lack of diversity or use tokenism in place of diversity for example. Not to mention growing up with family members that have oldschool beliefs (to put it lightly). It's REALLY hard to not be at all racist or ethnocentric if it doesn't affect you, and it's also a bit easier to make a good living if you have racist beliefs (who's the number one media organization in the United States right now? hmmmm...) and much harder to make a living if you have anti-racist beliefs (I think most people tend to be somewhere in the center). You can see where the anger comes from. The thing is, racism is still something that exists subjectively to a degree, so there are many different definitions of racism, and many of them are legitimate when held to analysis. It's still very complex and not quite an exact science, so calling someone like Brittany B a racist when her definition of racism applies in many parts of the country (having lighter skin is proven to give you more advantages in life) is a bit unfair.
