#2263 I'm the author of the confession #2148 who was talking about the problems international students may have in terms of dating women. First of all I should thank those who expressed sympathy. Second, if a girl turns me down because of my nationality by no means I consider them as racist. Internationals may just seem strange to them or they may think cultural differences are an important factor. Some of them may be OK with dating international but they may have difficult time justifying this for family and friends because of the image that is created of the Middle East.
One person kindly talked about my prayer mat.For your information Arabic is not my native language although I know some Arabic and like it. People in my country don't wear that kind of clothing but I believe there's nothing wrong with those who dress that way. Someone else talked about 9/11. None of those involved in the attack were from my country. However, even if some people from my country were involved, I don't believe I should be accountable for that. After 9/11 people in my country gathered to light candles and show empathy with those who lost their loved ones in this attack. I was one of those people. I also need to mention that I don't have to go back to my country because I'm fully funded by UNT. My country is not paying for my school. At the end I should thank all those who expressed their views on the topic.
