#3522 Denton has a lot of solid local music to offer, whether you're into hip-hop, noise, indie, folk, punk, metal, or radio-friendly pop. We have wonderful music venues, ranging from hipster dive bars and traditional clubs to even houses that host free gigs. We have many great musicians who have amounted to success such as Norah Jones, The Marked Men, Baptist Generals, Sarah Jaffe, Midlake, Eli Young Band, Riverboat Gamblers, and Neon Indian. We have many music festivals such as 35 Denton (now on hiatus), Denton Arts & Jazz, Oaktopia, and Thin Line, which feature tremendous national touring bands and local ones alike. The New York Times even did an article on Denton's music scene in 2008.

So no, Denton doesn't have a shitty music scene. The ones who think that are the ones who don't ever go to shows.

#3521 So this confession (well maybe not so much a confession) is probably going to come off as crass and rude but what the hell I'm just speaking the truth. What I do not understand is why do only weird guys hit on me? I would like to think that I am a fairly decent looking girl and easy to get along with. I have always been very independent and hard-working. So naturally you're probably picturing me as a rather nerdy somewhat overweight girl and I can understand that because society generally associates smart with ugly. Well I am pretty skinny, have brown hair and eyes, and somewhat long hair just for you to get an idea.
