#3814 To the person who wrote about the kind Muslim men in Sycamore: as a fellow Muslim, thank you for saying that. And to the commenter who said it wouldn't be right to generalize... I think you're the one generalizing. The people who do that kind of stuff (stoning, etc.) are a VERY small minority in the Muslim world (just like, say, the Westboro Baptist Church is a minority with Christians), and if you read the Quran, women are treated equally to men. And to the commenter who said that it's seen as oppressive because we don't pray together, that's not true. We can pray together and many times do, but women do pray behind men because men are biologically visual (and generally more lustful) creatures. Since there is a lot of bending and prostrating during the prayer, men go in front so that they aren't tempted by women's bodies at a time that everyone should be focusing on God. I would have actually commented, but I just got rid of my Facebook. :)

#3813 Coming to UNT I have found a sense of confidence in me that I've never possessed before and I thought it was SO amazing. Being fearless is great and all because, "you never know if you never do" so... recently I decided to be fearless once again and be honest with the person I liked. Without even thinking about it because that's just me. So I did. And I got shot down. I wouldn't say it hurt my confidence/fearlessness just made me think that I should think about things before I make situations weird...
I just figured I could anonymously encourage whoever out there who is having these kind of issues to be confident and fearless, but do so in a thoughtful manner before you make things awkward like me. LOLz

#3811 Does anyone know if there is a way to get a temporary parking pass? I walk about a half mile a day to and from class but I'm having leg surgery next month. I will be on crutches until the end of the semester and hope to make my walk a little easier. I refuse to pay the $300/semester fee, because that's ridiculously expensive considering how much I already pay in tuition.

#3810 I knew my friend was a drug addict when we first started hanging out but she was sober and "in recovery" so it was cool but recently she started doing hard drugs again. she is supposedly "back on track" but it still weirds me out and I just don't want that around me. I want to be a supportive friend but at the same time I don't want to be friends with someone that does heroin. the thing that sucks is, she told me she had baggage before we got close and I told her I could handle it. now, I feel like a dick because I want out when I told her it wouldn't happen. advice???
