I have a crush on this girl named Julia. She lives at maple hall and is gorgeous! She also has an amazing personality! The only thing is I don't know if I could ever tell her how I feel because she doesn't know me that well, but I'm mainly even more terrified because I'm a girl.

I see a lot of people talking on this page about racism and I'd like to take a minute to explain. Racism = Prejudice + Power. When you are a not a PoC (person of color) and you stop a PoC from getting something based on the color of their skin that is racism. i.e. The young black man who was denied from Marvel comics for his idea although he had been given the job over email, then when he went to meet with them the white male said "I had no idea you were..." and trailed off. He then got an email saying he wouldn't be needed. THAT is racism.

In America as a white person you hold the power. That's your privileges. Can you experience discrimination in America for being white? Yes. Is it racism? No. Can a white person experience racism? Yes in a country where being white is not powerful, like in China, or Japan, etc. It's understandable that as a white person you have your own problems, BUT it is not as bad as a PoC when it comes to some big ticket items. I'm pretty sure no one has ever or will ever throw eggs at you and yell the "n" word. No one will assume that you are uneducated or illegal. Or that you're parents don't speak English and a million other stereotypes. (This are forms of discrimination and under certain circumstances, the egg thing being a display of physical power, can be turn into a racism = prejudice + power scenario).

Being white in America means that you will most likely (especially if you're male) get a job over a PoC. They will say it's based on "qualifications". Although you are equally qualified.

Alright guys and gals, I want to join a frat on campus but I do not drink whatsoever and I'm not the biggest party bus in town. However, I feel like I have lot to contribute! I hear that rushing/pledging and all that jazz had a lot of "hazing" and drinking prior to getting in and doing a lot of stupid stuff. Is there a frat out there that's there for the classy and well mannered that doesn't involve doing a lot of ridiculous things to join? Sorry if I sound ignorant because I pretty much am when it comes to this stuff so I don't mean to offend anyone. Buuuuuuuuuuuuut could someone help a brotha out?
