I am a furry. I've kept this a secret for nearly a decade, and I feel like if I don't tell anyone I'm going to go insane. Keeping it a secret is eating my up inside. Every time I feel like today may be the day to tell my friends, somehow furries will pop up in conversation (not me who brought it up. I know, shocker; that's my middle name), and they'll insult us, destroying any urge to tell them "Hey, I'm one of those guys you're insulting." The remarks they say stem from misunderstandings of what we really are. And these are my closest friends here. If I don't feel confident telling them then I won't feel any more confident telling anyone else.
