#16084 I can connect to the wifi, yet I can't use it... but there's thousands of dollars of landscaping getting done!
I can register for classes at the same time as everyone else at a community college of ten thousand students, but the best engineering school in the state (12 thousand students) requires me to make an appointment to mitigate server load.
The campus itself is designed for a student body of 7-8 thousand. there are 12 thousand of us.
The truth is, and I'll say this quite flatly, Tennessee Tech's problems are beyond the control of the students. Don't get me wrong, there was once a point in time where people organized themselves and made themselves heard, but the system made sure that stopped a long time ago. you need permits to have an opinion. But fear not, they made sure you were given a "like" button.
You traded your right to complain, for a feeling of helplessness. A feeling you used to justify the fact that you don't have the stones to do anything. Hiding behind a veil of "anonymity" you'll spew venom into the ether like rats hissing from dark corners, but you won't stand up.
The Bullshit stops when you stop eating it. Things start changing when you stop thinking it's someone else's job to fix it. This is our school. We pay to be here. If you're tired of something... stop cooperating. Stop obeying the rules. Can't find a spot? Get a few hundred people together and park in the grass. Pay the fine and do it again. and again. and again.
Tired of the the administration shafting the IT budget? Get a few hundred students at a time to log in and out of Ilearn again and again until it crashes. Then get a few hundred more and crash Eagle online. Start making a scene, and don't stop until the news vans roll in... it doesn't take much... those people are vultures.
There was a time in this country when people stopped talking because no one was listening. They started messing with the system as hard as they could. Forget the sixties. Don't confuse drugs and rebellion with activism. Think earlier, think about a woman who wouldn't give up her seat. We are Tech

#16084 It's so hard to meet new people on this campus. Especially girls. I try to be a nice guy but they are always just like "Why are you talking to me" and "This is the girls restroom" and "You shouldn't even be in here". Am I doing something wrong?

#16083 I had fantastic sex, filled out my application to transfer to UTK for social work, and took a nice walk by the lake even though it's way too fucking hot. What a great day :) Tech is nice, I would stay forever, but they just aren't a part of the DCS program I want. I'll miss you all.

#16083 Son of a bitch this parking situation is pissing me off. How the hell is anyone supposed to park anymore? First the tennis courts are cut off and now half the stadium parking lot for a football game?! Anyone who issues a ticket today is a complete asshole. Anyone agree?
