#16088 I was raped by an RA my freshman year and Tech refused to help me. I have since dropped out and I'm surrounded by debt and depression. When I sought help, I was told it wasn't as tragic as it could have been because I wasn't a virgin when it happened. I was told because I knew the guy I probably wasn't really raped. I've been called a liar and a whore. That is my experience at Tech. That is the truth. I've heard that a lot of the police at Tech don't report rapes or other crimes because they don't want potential students to know how high the incidences of these crimes really are. The national statistics are that one in four college students are victims of sexual assault. I have lost my financial aid, my ability to attend college, and my credibility as a student because of my attack. I am just one of the twenty-five percent. Why isn't Tech doing more to help the victims? Why was my attacker able to graduate with honors in the major I once loved? I want to restart my life, but I can't as long as I have to be reminded of the horror each time I walk the halls at the university I once loved.

#16088 You guys, I might be posting is anonymously, but I firmly agree with the previously posted message about rebellion. We are living in a world that uses bombs and bloodshed to send messages but the best way to truly make a difference is to use united words and actions. The only true way to form a movement is through the anonymous keystrokes on a social media site. Those of you who truly believe in making a difference will see this and will hopefully feel empowered. We are the only ones why can even try to change things. Please, if you want to help, find others who also want to help. Join together to make things better. Don't complain about it and do nothing. As the person before me stated, small rebellions like parking or crashing the system are little things that could help instigate change. Also, (and I know this is kind of a terrible thing to suggest) but if a large number of us who are unsatisfied transferred to another school, we could hurt the numbers Tech relies on to seduce high schoolers into believing it is the right choice. I am planning to transfer as the department of my choice is complete shit. Actually, most of the departments are. Your education should be more important than a new fitness center or failing sports team. Fight back, guys. Choose to do something to help make your education worthwhile.

#16087 I confess that I am sick of the Christian faith and how they try to drag you in like a greedy seller. I know we are in the bible belt and all, but we are also a secular institute that has the right not to have it thrown in our face. I believe that by the time you get to college, you should have already made the choice about what you truly believe.
