#17896 Because I've seen at least two posts about this per day, I thought I would help debunk a myth about servers. Believe it or not, servers are paid $7.25 per hour just like everyone else. The difference is any dollar the server is given in tips replaces some of their income paid by the employer. But if my tips + $2.13 per hour do not equal $7.25 per hour then the employer must pay out the rest.

Moral of the story: Tip based on service, not because you think they are paid pennies.
