#17074 I feel as if I'm at some sort of standstill in my life. I'm a junior and had my goals within site until I recently realized they weren't for me. I definitely have the potential to go to medical school like I had planned, but would I have been happy in the long run? No. I am just starting to figure out where my other passions lie, and I think I should pursue those regardless of the prestige or wealth any other career could provide me with. It's hard though because I do not want to disappoint anyone, including my family that had such high hopes for me. I wanted to pursue medicine because I found it intriguing until I got sick myself. Thereafter, I completely lost interest in every aspect of it. I hate it because it constantly reminds me of my own illness. I don't think I could work in such a profession that fills me with such sorrow. But I am too scared to take the leap into something totally new.
