#5166 I confess that I'm a fool when it comes to helping friends. My roommate and best friend has been living with me on and off for 4 years. Over time, he has been without a job and without his own vehicle and I have fronted him on rent, food and other personal expenses while he has been going through some tough times. He's accumulated about $2k in debt with me and to this day still doesn't have a car and has only paid me back $100 of the $2k debt. He got his taxes back and immediately dropped half of it on a new Xbox and a pair of headphones for his online gaming because his last one wasn't good enough. He can afford to keep his stash of pot from running dry and can buy a new video game every now and then. Am I wrong for feeling taken advantage of considering he isn't making his debt with me a priority? Not to mention while he doesn't have his own vehicle, I'm his primary form of transportation home from work every night as well as anywhere else that he may need to run to if he can't get anyone else to give him a ride. I love this guy like a brother and I don't know where to draw the line or what to do. I need advice. I don't know how to say anything more to him so that he understands how inconsiderate he is being without coming off as a douche. Advice?
