I confess modern feminism is toxic and is only making us weaker as a society. I support the right of women to equal rights and treatment as men. Voting, employment, pay, everything. I do not support feeble-minded people using their gender as an excuse to get special treatment. There is a gender wage gap between all men and all women. That wage gap is not the result of a sexist system. It is the result of more women choosing low-paying careers (teaching, public service, humanities) and more men choosing high-paying careers (STEM, trades), and because women are generally less assertive when negotiating salary.

And what's up with this modern "I need feminism because..." bullshit? If you replace "feminism" in most of those with "therapy", it makes more sense.

Everyone comes into life as equals. Dozens of government programs, and hundreds of grants, scholarships, whatever offer everyone the same opportunities in life. Whether you're white, black, yellow, green, whatever. YOU are responsible for your actions and life. You CHOOSE to barely speak coherent English, stand in the middle of the sidewalk and only talk about your aspirations to rap or play sports for a living. So when the time to grow up and get a job comes around, don't complain and blame your unemployment on the system. Don't expect people to believe that you couldn't get ahead in life because you were oppressed. Don't blame me and make me support your shitty life because of your bad decisions.

Bull. Fucking. Shit. You received a public education courtesy of the state. You had the opportunity to get a high GPA and get TOPS. You were perfectly capable of applying to every single business in town. You are just as capable of nailing a 3.0+GPA in a major that will get you a job. Not General Studies. Not Sports Administration. Not Psychology.

Then wouldn't it follow that you should just not commit crimes that could get you arrested? Shouldn't you avoid people and situations that can lead to that? Police absolutely overstep their bounds a lot and look for reasons to arrest people. But nobody makes you go to parties with underage drinking. Nobody makes you hotbox a car. Nobody makes you get in a fight. Nobody makes you rob or steal or vandalize. Those are all your choices.

I chose to make good decisions that would be productive to my future. I worked to get where I am. I will not just stand by and listen to you complain and spew shit like the only reason I am where I am is because of my X privilege.

What many people (including you, apparently) don't seem to realize is that college is not about simply making money - it should help you with your career, sure, but college is about educating yourself, exposing yourself to new ideas, and figuring out what you want out of life, whether it is your job or not. If all you want is a degree to make you money, then I'm sorry - you don't belong in college. Get out of SLU and go to a technical or professional school - it will take you less time, and you'll be able to start a job immediately.

I confess I have a fwb and the both of us know the relationship will lead nowhere. He told me so himself. I know its wrong but I keep having sex with him because I'm lonely and depressed.
