#24084 The lexicon has changed so much in the past few years that it's kinda difficult to go back to many shows and movies from as recent as 10-15 years ago. The Lord of the Rings, for example, feels like a cartoon compared to Game of Thrones. Almost every western before True Grit just seems wrong and inauthentic, especially compared to the Tarantino stuff and The Revenant. Comedies aren't as funny and seem out of touch. But a few films, like American Psycho and Team America World Police, oddly seem more relevant than ever.

#24083 I think what post #24078 was trying to say was that U.S. police can act very unprofessional. Many times they are not even doing their job when they are chatting up fellow police officers or just relaxing in their car with the AC on. These people don't take enough pride as being the enforcer of the country and protection for the people. They are hired as high school or college dropouts who just wants to carry around guns and have a sense of authority over the general public. The U.S. and State governments need to change the people they hire in the form of stricter qualifications and background checks. Hire people who will treat this as their profession and not just a part time job. Hire people who want to protect the public and not just wanting to carry around a weapon.
