#24333 I am a grad student (working under an Asian Professor). Let's take the scenario that I work really hard (& somewhat productive). However, my prof. is never satisfied. At first, I took it as a challenge (to work more hard). After a while, this thing became discouraging. So, for the last couple of weeks, I am working at a normal pace at lab. Although, the overall goal of success is hindered by this process but my prof. started to recognize that I am not working "super" hard as I used to. He is unable to say that directly but I get the sense of slight frustration from him (which I felt good). Initially, I wanted to ask for suggestions but seems like it became a confession.
