#24908 In response to the discussion on confession 24894. I decided to make an expanded comparison of the two hypothetical idiots competing for who can be more pathetic: "Nice Guy" complaining about the friendzone, or "Out-of-Shape Girl" who thinks men who aren't attracted to her are shallow.
If it isn't terribly obvious, I am siding with the OP of 24894 on this one, for the most part.
Nice Guys: Girl I’m friends with doesn’t want to go out with me, but insists we’re still friends. (1)I think I am in love, and am unwilling to let go of this woman who is (2) potentially taking advantage of me emotionally. Instead of considering that (3) I am perhaps not as perfect as I thought, I (4) blame it all on women in general, saying they do not appreciate “nice guys” like myself. I console myself with porn, and the repeated encouragement that (5) I am not as bad as that jerk Brad, and I hold the door open for women, so therefore I am a nice guy deserving of this woman's affections. I also (6) do not appreciate the friendship of this woman, even if she is genuinely making an effort to continue to be my friend, because (7) sooner or later maybe she’ll see that I am really a great guy, and (8) when Brad dumps her, she’ll come crying to me.
Out-of-Shape Ladies: I am a little out-of-shape, and I can’t seem to get any dates. (1) I am insecure about how I look, and (2) he should make the first move anyway. Instead of considering that perhaps (3) my closed demeanor is a little off-putting to men in the first place, I (4) blame it all on men in general, saying they don’t appreciate women who are a little out-of-shape. I console myself with tubs of chocolate ice cream and the repeated encouragement that (5) I am a beautiful pearl on the inside with a great personality, unlike Janine over there, who is a scheming witch hiding behind a pretty smile. I also (6) take no steps to improve my physical appearance, even if do have an unhealthy lifestyle, because (7) guys just don’t see that this is actually what beauty looks like, and (8) when Janine turns out to be a terrible person, he'll wish he'd come to me.
This is not exhaustive; I just threw it together on the fly, essentially. I am also biased, so that is always an issue. Suffice to say, complaining about your lack of a love life for whatever reason is pretty pathetic. If you keep blaming other people for your problems, you will never grow, and you will make yourself miserable.
Confession: I was considering replying to the conversation on the confession, but I am too cowardly to assign my name to my view on the subject.

#24905 While many of you were watching the presidential debate watching those two human trashcans argue and getting angry at their bullshit, I was watching Digimon the Movie. Its safe to say that I'm the real winner
