#25260 It's always interesting to see the varying maturity levels on campus. I'd like to say I never had a problem with maturity but that would be a straight damn lie. I was the most immature person I knew for a while. There's nothing wrong with that, we are all going to Purdue together and growing just the same. My advice would be to be who you are, but just be considerate of people when you can.

Confession: I'm going to miss this place next year.

#25259 I used to be very Christian. I was brought up in a more "Christmas-Easter" household (though my family is historically Catholic) but during high school one night while performing community service at a church, they were holding Baptisms and made a last call. I am normally very reserved around those I don't know, but something compelled me to walk up on that stage in front of strangers and get Baptized. The love and congratulations from those I didn't know felt so warm and welcoming. From then on, I prayed through adversity in my teen years and did my best to go to church when I could.
As I got to college I started to become disenchanted with Christianity, or at least some of its followers. It was too common to hear people using the Bible as a weapon of discrimination and shame rather than a tool of love and acceptance. I stopped mentioning religion altogether to others, neither for or against it, and here I am today.
I attended a wedding this past weekend, and the priest was mentioning how God loves us all despite all facets of our past and identities. I had guarded my mind when entering that church, but hearing those words made me almost want to cry sitting there. What happened that made me so cynical? I miss being able to believe.
I wish my social anxiety in new places didn't prevent me from exploring faith once again. I relished the love in it.

#25257 I think I am in love (with a slightly older woman who is happily married, workplace), definitely. It started with infatuation I suppose. I know I can’t have her (it is not even practical) but every day fresh piles of pain for her longing seems to be on rise. I tried to suppress the pain but it is making the wound deeper. I try to run away from the warmth ness of her soul everyday (stayed weeks without talking), and it did work/slowed with time (time heals everything), but we work in same place. I do have to meet with her at least once in awhile. This encounter brings back the loop-hole of my one-sided love life. This is crazy. It's not the same as I had with other girls. Is this what love is? or just my lust?

#25255 I know we were having fun..and we are really good together..but I just dont know why you give a cold shoulder sometimes and get pissed off at everything I say or do..I just dont know how to cheer you up sometimes and I hate when we meet up at those times. I would really appreciate if you make things clear or if you want to break-up. Life is too short to ponder over awkward silences.

#25254 To my Catholic friends: today is a holy day of obligation. You have to go to church today. There. Now you can't say you didn't know. Hahahaha
