#25541 After ruining my life and professional reputation via unknowably inappropriate behavior while intoxicated, plus some secrets from my dark past being spilled for everyone in my life to see, I'm seriously considering moving to another state and starting over by constructing a new personality where I am pretty much the same person, only if those events had never occurred. I will never be able to pick up the pieces here, I am forever shamed, but it never leaked on my social media accounts so if I do this it's like a free "start over" pass. Only thing is, I'm not sure I'll be able to do this. To live with lies always in the back of your mind that you have to be aware of is a constant tightrope act that I'm not sure I can manage very well, as recent circumstances have proven. But maybe I'll get used to it eventually. It's a small price to pay to live liberally where I can go to parties and be loved by many potential friends, be loved at work (which makes the job much easier) and so on. Getting wasted is also a thing of the past, I'm sober now. In theory it's as easy as getting in my car, driving to a sleepy state or a city where rent isn't crazy high, getting set-up professionally and doing what I've been doing online for years - attempting to re-program myself until my good/positive/likable/loving side is my default state of being. But the more I think about it, the more I realize it might not be fair to those who I befriend (wont be dating or marrying anyone, so there's that). The idea that I trick them into being friends with someone they would not waste time with if they knew my past...that makes me kind of nauseous. But staying here is a dead end and also unfair for remaining friends and family who are currently stuck with having to show hospitality to me, considering the sexual harassment, pedophillic thoughts, incest when I was in my early teens, etc.

#25537 It's clear that we aren't the friends I'd hoped we were—and that's devastating because I still think the world of you.
