I know it may be tempting to rip someone a new asshole but I urge people to try their best to not make snap judgement as well as to try to hear people out and see things from different perspectives. If something sounds like sensationalist news, fact check it. And sometimes it's simply better to unfollow your extremely opinionated friend or family member on facebook rather than throwing down the gauntlet in the comments section.
