I have a sordid past, things bad enough that kinda make me not blame anyone for not wanting to be around me, maybe it was something to do with that. Anyway, it's been a couple years and I only met him once and had a slight nervous breakdown because I was, erm, nervous and knew it would be awkward (and probably took too much xanax/ambien). They've been in town a few times since then and I'm kind of afraid to interact with them because of how awkward it seems like it would be. Seems like a nice enough guy, all things considered, but when a family member's new boyfriend straight up says "Go fuck yourself" before meeting you, how do you react to that?

#26574 My advisor threatens me by saying that he wont sign my thesis and wont let me graduate. He has stopped funding me and wants a paper before I graduate. As a master's student, I have done my part and have published 2 journal papers. Is there any way I can get out of this? Is there anyone or anywhere where I can go and complain? I have never seen a professor who is so shameless and so obsessed about journal publications that they can go to any extent.
