#28877 I came to purdue with a full ride and have yet to make any friends. So far, the people I've met seem so shallow. They come from rich families either from our country or another and seem to not understand how lucky they are to have these opportunities. Being around these people makes me so depressed, growing up so poor it's hard for me to relate with people like this, our minds are on two completely different tracks. I don't mean for this to sound rude, and these kinds of people are the exception and not the rule. Everyone here seems so disingenuous and judges you if your family doesn't have money. I just want to give up and go home, I don't want to spend my life surrounded by these kinds of people.
I've been seeing these posts about guys and girls who sleep and cheat on their partners for fun. My dad cheated on my mom and I have never seen him since. There are people that don't tip for no reason. My mom is a waitress, that extra money got me a book if I needed one. People that openly use this to bad mouth another student they know. I feel like I am that student because I'm lonely. I have no friends, I feel isolated. Thank you for listening if you read this.

#28876 28840 continued....I get it. Some delivery drivers need help in the form of tipping. But...You say that If i order food to my dorm by spending 10$, I can afford the extra 2 bucks for the tip.
How about this? The country that spends trillions of dollars on war, cannot illegalize pay less than minimum wage?
I believe, Tipping is not a cultural thing. It's just a blind rule put up by people with their emotional judgement (Yeah, we all have empathy towards those drivers that bring us food at 1 AM).
It's not about finding answers. You gotta ask the right questions instead. No wonder DT is our president.

#28874 I don’t tip and I make it a point not to. If I were to get a job, and ask my clients to give me a few extra dollars after I’ve served them that would make me look cheap as fuck. It looks very ugly that citizens from a developed country act like children when they don’t get a dollar. Just saying.
P.S I’m American and I grew up here.

#28873 Since there's been so much being said about tipping, here's something to lighten your mood:

#28871 I tip. Sometimes. Not because its the right thing to do, but because I feel pressured to do so with this whole 'culture' agenda. You should know that if waiters are not earning through tips, they still make minimum wage (atleast in Indiana). Therefore, whoever says: If you cant afford to tip, you cant order. You are wrong. Watch me.
