#28949 Kinda sucks to be surrounded by so many people from your own land (India) but not one good friend around. Did not think Grad school would make a cheerful person like myself feel so terribly lonely.

#28950 I have been wanting to get this out off my chest for a while. You may not believe me, but this is my life right now. I do not know how to deal with it.
You see, I sometime feel like a plastic bag. Sometimes I drift through the wind and then I get stuck when I really would like to start again.
I know what you are thinking. Ha ha. You are quoting a dumb Katy Perry Song. You know the weird part. Sometimes I think I am Katy Perry! I am the one who wrote that song as I expressed my feelings.
Could it be that sometimes she feels like ME! Could it really be that Katy perry at times feels like a Chemical Engineer at Purdue who just needs to go down on Bruce at the Piano Bar? The bars he spits... Yum!

#28948 I'm on vacation in Orlando right now and tonight I while I was picking up some stuff for the kitchen at the resort store I was having a conversation with the clerk. I was getting a pretty strong vibe that she was being flirtatious and it was nice to talk to her for a few minutes. My suspicion was confirmed when I saw her put an item that I didn't pick out or pay for into the bag because she was so distracted with talking to me. It made me smile all the way back to my room and I still feel amused by the encounter. I think tomorrow I'll drop back by with the drink with the excuse of returning it to go back and talk to her. Tomorrow is my last night at the resort, and it would make my entire vacation if I could treat her to dinner.
On Saturday I visited good friends, honestly family, and we caught up. My very best friend and I, usually separated by distance and time since we last saw each other, decided to take some psilocin, a psychedelic from mushrooms. We have a deep and enduring trust that has spanned a decade now, and that is why I agreed to, because I was feeling apprehensive about it beforehand. My mental state has really been wound up this entire year. His wife didn't take anything, but we all stayed up until past 3am just having a free flowing conversation - really just me and my friend's wife, because it turned out that my friend, who took ×2.5 the amount I did, tripped quite a bit harder and was quite much of the time (he preferred it that way), but I was definitely capable of lucid conversation. I was overcome with the feeling that as each of us was speaking, it was as though we were speaking in unison as and for each other, in total understanding and mostly agreement. I learned a lot about nutrition and wellness from my friend's wife and she learned a bit about psychedelics from myself. I explained how I felt a generalized sense of well-being and felt my tensions drop, and felt that I lost the need to defend myself against anything, psychologically speaking, if that makes sense. I felt I found that when I let myself become still I find I'm on the right path, and objectively I see that things are starting to happen for me in my life. The entire experience allowed a gentle and subtle shifting of mental gears and resetting some inner switches. I feel more relaxed today, more clear, not conflicted. I have had quite serious body image issues for some time, which has affected my desire to be present and available for very important social things like flirting and up to relationships, and even just having a nice casual conversation like I did tonight. I feel so much of my inner tension and self limitation have dissolved and fallen away. I am ready to come back to life and become whole once again. I am so grateful.

#28947 To the general male population:
If a girl tends to be quiet/shy not very outgoing and she doesn't want to go out with you it is personal. It's very personal. She's just an introvert(also applies to extroverts) who isn't interested in having you in her space in that way. That's not mean or demeaning towards you. I mean come on, does a girl really have to be interested in every decent guy? But on the flip side if she's trying to get you to talk to her, because she likely likes you, she's probably way out of her comfort zone so cut her some slack, even if you can't figure her out. Most girls don't play mind games with guys just a select few. The rest of it just comes across that way... end of rant.
Confession: I've upset multiple guys I wasn't interested in purely by being friendly and them getting the wrong idea. It makes me feel like shit. Around the interesting ones I tend to put my foot in my mouth. So there. Judge me all you want in the comments.

#28943 To the sophomore in CS, you and your friends need to stop slut-shaming your ex who happens to be my best friend. C'mon, you and your noobs of friends are just jealous of the fact that she happens to get all the guys to sleep with her almost every single day, while you long for action and go about everyday staring at girls like creeps. Stop labeling her as a slut or a whore while you yourselves are a bunch of creepy dudes.
