Try being single for 21 years like me. Try spending 21 years watching people go in and out of relationships, watch them giggling, smiling, getting to know each other, grow together, have fun, go on dates, and just be together. Yes, some of those relationships that I have seen have ended in fights and arguments, but I saw the good points in the relationship too. They experienced, even just for a short period of time, happiness. They spent time together and had fun. For 21 years, I've wished and wished that I could find someone to spend time with, someone who actually wants to get to know me. I want to spend a Christmas season with a boyfriend, I want a guy to be with me on my birthday, on Valentine's day, when the fireworks go up on the fourth of July, on those summer nights, on those chilly fall nights by the fire, and on that countdown to the New Year to kiss me and ring in the new year together. I'm so tired of everyone telling me to appreciate the single life. The single life would be fun and enjoyable if I actually had some periods with a relationship. Being single for my whole life is absolutely exhausting, emotionally destroying, confidence killing, and completely and constantly heartbreaking. I don't know what's wrong with me, but I do know that I'm so sick of this.
