It sounds like you're crying before you're hurt. If your beliefs, when put into practice, violate the rights of others then they should be subject to harsh and unrestrained criticism. You're more than welcome to be opposed to basic human rights, like the right of two consenting adults to marry, but it would be more consistent with your beliefs to move to a country where those beliefs are already enforced. Like Saudi Arabia or Pakistan. Although I think you'll find the political climate of religious despotism, which is what your beliefs would be if they had the full support of the law, not so much to your liking when you're actually forced to live under it.
Not only are you afforded the right to speak your mind and advertise your supposed morality, you currently do so with the support of the majority of the population here in the United States. If you feel hurt by criticism of your beliefs, or if these beliefs are so unfounded that they cannot withstand even the gentle scrutiny to which they are currently being subjected, then the problem lies with the nature of the beliefs and not with the nature of the scrutiny. Criticism is a necessary part of free expression, just as much as belief - if not more important. It is what allows us to tell truth from fiction, and real modern developed moral ideas from outdated and empty moral myths.
God bless you.

#6338 So at work the other day idk how but a box cut my wrist, the next day my mom saw it and was asking if I was cutting my wrists and if I were suicidal and I told her no, that it happened at work and I thought that was the end of it (there have been a couple times where she may have thought I was gonna kill myself, idk maybe its just how I don't talk much or whatevs) so she asked again today if I did it on purpose to where I responded "no, there's way too much good stuff in this life to end my own" .... needless to say, I don't think she'll be asking me anymore, I mean that line was legit as fuck right??!?

#6337 My final grades weren't what I hoped for...I feel like shit seeing and hearing about everyone else's good grades. Granted I did pass all my classes but my GPA is horrible. I haven't told my parents that final grades are posted because I'm ashamed. They would be so disappointed. I'm wasting their money and I'm wondering what I'm going to do with my life.

#6336 I don't know if anyone else has experienced something like this, and it's not really a confession, but I was wondering if anyone's experienced dull pains in random parts of the head and slight pressure around the temples. It started a few days before finals and it's still going on. Nothing else is wrong, just that, and I'm getting a little paranoid about it. If it helps at all, I might have an impacted wisdom tooth.

#6335 Is it bad that I judge a guy's major/academic success and use it in my decision to date someone? I work my ass off as a science major and want a guy that's just as ambitious and dedicated as I am.
