#3Alright people. Today's topic is about spontaneity. What exactly is spontaneity? According to Merriam-Webster, spontaneity is undetermined action or movement. Most of you probably have no idea where I'm going with this so allow me to explain. Spontaneity is what makes life interesting. Most people live their day to day lives the same way every day. They wake up, they go to class, they eat, they may go work out or talk to friends, do homework, and go to sleep. And the cycle gets repeated over and over again. Most people also don't feel like there is something wrong with this because they're so used to living life this way that they think this is the way life should be lived. And that's fine, but that doesn't make life memorable. If you continue to live life on a set schedule every single day, life will be just a big blur and before you know it, you're out of college, have to find a job, and continue to live a repetitive life. Now let me go back to spontaneity. What I mean by spontaneity in this sense is to do something different every single day, something different that you will remember and can look back on. Every day should be different so that when you look back you can easily remember the specific events of your life. Everybody should have the mentality of "what can I do today that can make me a better person than I was yesterday?" or better yet, "what can I do different tomorrow that can make me a better person than I am today?". Being spontaneous means talking to a stranger and having a conversation with him/her you never talked to before(DON'T JUST SAY HI), it means try a sport at the CoRec you've never tried before, pick up a new hobby you've always wished you could have done, if you only hang out with your respected race, talk to someone of a different race. I think the best example of spontaneity is if you were to pack up your clothes for a week or two, drive to the airport and buy a plane ticket to a random country. Obviously not everybody has the time or money to do this but its just an example. I guarantee spontaneity will make life way more interesting and memorable. The best part of being spontaneous is that it is the best when it is not planned. If you see something/someone interesting, just do it or go up and talk to them. Don't think about it, just do it. Just do something random that you will remember forever. You don't have to limit this mindset in college life if you're on vacation, go somewhere you've never been to before, ditch the beach scene and venture out in the wilderness. Go skydiving, go cliff jumping, go ziplining, go skiing. My point is that it doesn't matter what you do, just do something random and something you've never done before. Go out of your comfort zone you will not regret it. That's all I have to say for today.
