#29740 I'm an admitted 2022...this is such a dream come true and I'm ecstatic to be joining y'all next year but ever since I've got in people have been spreading rumors about me...things like she only got in because shes a girl, because she probably got on her knees, who did she bribe/sleep with to get in etc etc...and it's weird because these are people who know how hard i work and know that i get good grades. Did anyone else struggle with something similar and have advice? really looking forward to getting out of here

#29731 Leaving Purdue was the best thing I ever did. Not to bash on those who enjoy it, to each their own. But college was not for me and now I'm training to be a mechanic and I absolutely love it. No I won't be making as much money as I would as a chemical engineer, but I'm not going to be a hollow shell either. So fuck everyone who says you NEED to get a degree. It's just another attempt to control our age group. Trade jobs need employees SO much, and some of them the pay is just as good if not better than a STEM career. Do what you love. Be smart, but you only get one life, so don't waste it on meeting other people's expectations.
