#12742 Why do so many people walk around glued to their cell phones? I know some people actually need to contact someone or look up something, but isn't it true that some of us feel the need to do so because making eye contact with the people passing by makes us uncomfortable? So many people miss what is right in front of their face.They aren't able to enjoy the things around them like purdue's unique architecture or seeing their friend across the path and say hi. Social Media, I think, should not be a big part of your life. How many people, myself included, have hundreds of friends on facebook but when we pass one of those hundred on the street, we don't even say hi to them? I challenge every one today to (unless need be) NOT pull out their cell phones while walking to class. And if you are feeling really adventurous actually look the people you pass in the eye and smile or say hi :)
