#13267 As an engineering student who has taken a fair number of high level English and History courses (one class away from an English Minor, but I'd rather graduate on time), those of us in STEM fields are without a doubt in a more difficult major. That being said, I by no means discount the necessity of liberal arts majors, but it is accurate to say the coursework is easier. A good example of this is in one English literature class I literally handed in a paper over a month late, and guess what? I still got one of four A's in the class...and this was a class full of English majors. To reiterate my point (as I'm currently coming off as a pompous ass, I'm aware), STEM fields ARE more difficult, but they are also paid accordingly. When you try to use outliers in the liberal arts fields (famous musicians, famous writers, etc.), you demonstrate a severe lack of knowledge in statistics. Everyone...instead of arguing about how good or bad your major is, why don't you just be happy with your major and excel in your field? When it comes down to it, it's more important to enjoy what you do.

Side note, almost everyone I know in a STEM field has a huge superiority complex. I'm thinking it stems (no pun intended) from being picked on as the nerdy guys/girls in high school. Brains only get you so far though, and those types of people never excel in the real world. So why don't you shape up or ship the fuck out.

P.S. Hopefully this is coherent, I'm sort of rambling while procrastinating a paper due in a course tomorrow.

#13200 I'm getting really sick of this medical marijuana approach to legalization. Just fuck it, tell them you have the right to get high.

Not saying there are no medicinal uses, but it seems like a lot of people I know (without medical issues) back the "medical marijuana" front to kind of reach a compromise with people that are anti-marijuana. Instead they should just straight up say nobody should have a problem with them wanting to be high. I also feel this way about coke, but that's another story and would meet with less support..
