#13515 Here is my solution to students who bitch about not getting tipped enough. If you don't like this job get a different one because there are tons of jobs out there that pays you more than being a waiter.
Examples - Research assistant - $9-11/hr, Clerical duties - $7.25-9/hr, data entry - $8-9/hr, Inventory manager - $8-10/hr, Private tutor $20-30/hr.

In addition being a waiter does not give you an edge in your resume and interviewing, all the interviewer see is that you have interpersonal and social skills. A job that requires critical thinking is better viewed than a job walking around handing out dinner plates. Trust me, my coworkers in HR says "Will hire a critical think any day over a waitress." There is a general consensus with in HR that waiter/ress will put up with crap and low pay, so when you start the job you get less compared to a person starting the position with a better qualifications.

What I am saying is "College students, starting thinking big and think about your future. Don't just be a waiter and make money to get by. Get a job that requires you to challenge yourself and think critically, these jobs will always pay better than walking back and forth dealing with shitty customers."
