#14253 People need to realize that you don't have to be old to need a cane. When someone with a cane gets on a standing-room-only bus, you're supposed to offer them your seat, not assume that they're faking a disability or using the cane as a fashion statement.

I know I'd rather give up my seat as an able-bodied person to someone who doesn't need it than force someone who does need it to stand.

#14239 As a bisexual woman, it makes me really uncomfortable that Purdue's LGBT organizations use "queer" as a blanket term for the entire community. I understand that some people identify as queer, and that's okay, but I don't like being labeled as such. Forcing a slur on an entire population in an attempt to "reclaim the word" is not a good or conscientious idea. I don't want to be reminded of the hate speech people have thrown at me every time I go to an LGBT "safe space."
