#14417 I loath people who talk differently to their significant other than to friends or strangers in terms of tone of voice, especially over the phone. Personally, I would be insulted if my bf/gf talked to me this way, and I've never done this in any relationship that I've been in. Anyone have any legit explanations for why people do this?

#14455 It's sad that I'm starting to tell myself never to expect anything. My boyfriend has never given me so much as a card for my birthday, Christmas, or valentines day. It wouldn't bother me so much if he hadn't done these things for his ex. It's not like I want diamonds or fancy chocolate. $5 flowers from Walmart would make me smile. I'm just tired of his lack of effort. I have to ask him if he wants to make plans, I make his dinner, I do nice things for him and I feel like I get nothing in return. It honestly just hurts.
