#30134 So I've always known I'm lucky but the magnitude of how priveleged I am has really hit in the last year. While my parents have loaned me the money for school until I can pay them back, my friend is at another school, working three jobs and paying not only her own tuition but also taking grad classes. She never complains about this, but takes it in stride and pushes herself to tackle it all.

I just want to say that I admire all of you out there who are earning your own way and powering through despite family financial help. You got dealt a rough hand compared to some of us. So this is for those of you who don't sleep except for bus travel between work and class, for those who pass their classes because retaking a semester is not an option, for all of you deciding between eating breakfast or lunch because eating 3 meals a day is too expensive. You guys are amazingly tough and hardworking and deserve the world.

Try to take preemptive measures from the next time if this is something that happens regularly. Since many people bitched about the speediness of Purdue administration, even compared your work’s pace to that of a snail, I just want to take this opportunity to say that you guys did a Good job under pressure. #30125 If I go to Lafayette yard sale or buy/sell/trade FB page, I often see people asking for free stuff. For example, I have a child and we need money for food, or need school supplies anything helps!

As an international student from a dirt-poor country, people back home never ask for free stuff or for help. We work. It surprises me that with the minimum wage that is triple than ours, but similar living cost, I see people complaining more here than back in my country. So please, I know that you are in a tough situation, but try to find a job, some of the local charities that could help you to take care of your children when you are at work. Instead of asking for free stuff, how about asking for job opportunities?
