#17751 I don't understand how infant circumcision is justified unless there is a compelling medical reason to do so. While there are alleged health benefits, one must also be aware of the negative effects (mental & physical) it may have later in life as studies have shown. The medical conclusions are very vague. In the late 1800's, some doctors argued that it prevented masturbation as a justification since masturbation was considered harmful at that time. Once these myths were proven wrong, new reasons were created to perpetuate this practice. Medical professionals aren't any more free from bias or political influence than anyone else. And circumcision is not a necessity. You know what else prevents infection? Washing. You know what else prevents HIV? Condom. These seem to be way more effective and safer methods than slicing a healthy, functioning part of body with 1000 nerve endings. So let the child grow up and decide himself what's best for him by knowing consequences of such a procedure and the science behind it. What pro circumcision people often ignore are the experiences of hundreds of young boys and men suffering psychologically due to neonatal circumcision. Their rights HAVE BEEN VIOLATED.

#17753 I am just stating my opinion. If you disagree with my views that's alright by all means state your own opinions in the comments but this is just what has been on my mind. I feel like most guys that are in engineering are there only because it generates a lot of money and they are pressured to do it based on society and parents. As a guy, you are expected to be the money maker so they have to be in engineering instead of pursuing a career that they actually want. If you look at the demographics, most people in engineering are guys while more interesting but less money making majors such as psych or liberal arts are mostly women. I feel that if those majors generated the same amount of money, you would see that there would be a pretty even split of men and women in liberal arts. Women have the freedom to pursue what they love because they don't have to worry about being the money maker and don't have to worry about attracting guys based on how much they make. However, if a guy were to major in liberal arts, they just wouldn't be attractive to females because females expect the males to make the money and they would not be able to support their family off a liberal arts salary. I am a guy in engineering and I feel that it definitely is not my passion and if it wasn't for the money, I would be pursuing another major that was more interesting to me. Thanks for reading.

#TOANNAI miss you so much and this feeling is killing me everyday
I wish I never say yes when we first started
Then at least I can say hi to you now
We were the closet but now you are like the strangest
I wish you were right here, right now

#17755 I'm not sure if this makes me a bad person. I've been lucky enough to grow up in a wealthy family in the suburbs. The only things a want to focus on are getting good grades in school, getting a good job, treating whoever I meet with respect, and helping others when I get the chance. Whenever a major social justice issue comes up (such as police brutality on minorities, or when people post stuff about the systematic oppression of some races) I have, and probably will for a long time, remain silent. I just feel like there's nothing I, or really anyone not in a position of power, can do about it. But also sometimes it's hard to fight a system that ends up working in my favor.

#17756 Pro choice? That's fine, but it seems to me when you have sex without contraception, you have ALREADY made a choice.
