#19232 I think the reason so many Purdue students have problems is because CAPS is utter shit. I've been to other colleges and their mental health clinics, and I've never met worse counselors than I have at CAPS. They made things worse and were absolutely unhelpful when I relapsed. I'd been doing well for months and had almost recovered from years of depression. My counselor was an amateur and didn't bother to look up my file before our sessions started, so they'd spend a lot of time reading my file instead of talking to me. I was literally struggling to live and not give in to suicidal thoughts. How about you at least pretend like you fucking care? Asking to record our sessions so you can review them with your supervisor is not an excellent way to make me trust you. And don't even get me started on the whole "Sixth session onwards is $80 per hour" bullcrap. If I ever make it big in life, I want it to be known that it was in spite of Purdue CAPS, not thanks to it.
