I moved in with my boyfriend a little over seven months ago and I already dread it.
I love the guy, but he is so incredibly pessimistic about everything. It makes it really difficult to live with him. I am pretty good with dealing with conflict and am more than willing to help out, but it seems as if he is more happy being pissed off about everything than he is about being happy and content about things. It drives me absolutely crazy. I'm a firm believer in that you command your emotions and that you choose to feel happy or sad (within reason), so being with someone who lets negative emotions consume them is so overwhelming. We had been dating almost two years before moving in together. We are fairly mature...but I think it was just too soon...it feels as if he isn't sure how to temper his expectations of people. He assumes that people should react the exact same way he would to every situation and then get's incredibly frustrated and upset when they don't... He basically wants people to behave the way that he wants them to, but won't vocalize how he wants them to behave, and then get's angry when they don't behave that way. He sets people up for failure in his eyes.
GAH!

I'm a really honest person, I try to always speak the truth and if I don't know what to say, I just keep my mouth shout. Recently I have the urge to lie to my girlfriend and I feel like the worst person in the world for doing it, but hey not what you think... I lie about having to study really hard for a series of tests (university) just to have some time alone and finally play videogames, without having her giving a lecture to me for doing so. Everyday that urge to lie keeps growing, I really love to spend time with her but I miss my PC a lot, I know it's kinda stupid confession but sometimes it cracks me for having to lie just to have my spaces.

Our education system is complete bullshit. You either spend four years and forty thousand dollars getting a multidisciplinary education or you work at McDonalds the rest of your miserable life. Employers in most high paying fields won't even take your application if you haven't spent half a decade pissing away time and money time and money, studying subjects that for the most part will teach you nothing about the career you are seeking. We need to treat students like professionals in the making, not blank checks.

#19456 I bet people write these anonymous confessions, then comment on them pretending they didn't create it.

#19455 Does anyone know if there is a backpacking/hiking/survival club here on campus? I'm looking for people who also get entertainment in going out for a weekend with nothing more than what you can carry on your back.

#19452 I've always wanted to play Smash Bros in the HKN lounge in EE, but the kind of people who play scare me away. They're all super serious and just sit quietly while they play. No talking, no laughing, nothing. They manage to make video games look like work.
