#19564 In about to lose my apartment over $75. I have never been late on rent and forgot this one month and now have less than a week to come up with the extra money. I get paid 2 days after the date they need the money by, and they won't work with me .I feel so fucking stupid, and now will be homeless. I hate my life I worked so hard to get caught back up and in my feet to end up back like this. I've asked some friends to borrow the money and none of them have it and I am taking a semester off so I don't qualify for an emergency loan. I'm at a loss. All I want to do is cry until things seem better....

I get it. You're tired of them, as am I. Why, then; are there Boilers huddled around them every time they come to campus? Stop validating their existence and they will go away. Don't listen to the things they say, alternate your route to avoid them as I have done. Don't give them any opportunity to speak. Besides, who has time to stand there and listen to a bunch of idiots? Go study for your midterms, get lunch with a friend, or download the Battlefront Beta on your Xbox. It's really not worth dealing with a bunch of negative people to get blue in the face from going back and forth and yelling. Be the mature adults we as Boilermakers should be and stop giving them a chance to mean anything to anyone.

Don't expose your ignorance by arguing that what the preacher guy does is practicing his freedom of speech. I also can't help but notice that most of the people defending the preachers freedom of speech are "seemingly" heterosexual cis-gendered white males, who have probably not been told by the preacher that they deserve to be raped because their wore short dresses.

It is so extremely sad that we can't support one another when an outsider invades our campus and verbally attacks our own boiler family. Don't stay silent. Don't be passive. Speak up. Sign petitions. Do whatever it takes to get rid of this negative hateful energy.

#19558 Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with some people? I get it's exam time and people are stressed out, but being busy is no excuse for being an asshole. Some of y'all need to learn how to appreciate it when someone is just trying to be friendly. I for one am getting sick of trying my best to be nice to people who can't even find the time of day to feign friendliness back. Is it really that hard? It's not that I expect a reward for being kind, I just expect to be treated with basic decency and maybe have the thought reciprocated every now-and-then. Like get this, just today I got yelled at by a friend for just trying to be compassionate. Fucking yelled at. How was anyone taught that that's the correct way to treat a fellow human being, let alone one who only has their best interests at heart? I don't wanna give up being the person I am, but some of you out there make it really fucking hard to find the motivation to keep trying. It's exhausting.

So if you're reading this and anything I've said applies to you, don't get defensive and try to justify the way you treat people. Instead take a second to tell someone you appreciate their kindness. They took the time to think of you, the very least you could do is reciprocate the gesture. Who knows? You might actually make someone's day.
