#19588 I am a Christian and no longer a student on campus. As a Christian, it hurts me to hear the ill comments the preacher on campus says. Where does he preach? I think somebody needs to tell him what the real message of Jesus is, a message of love and not hate. He needs to be confronted by other christians who understand that Christianity is not about judging others, but about telling the good news of Jesus Christ. People need to know about God's unconditional love and power of forgiveness. Is not our duty as christians to condemn, our duty is to love and show Christ in all his glory. Preacher needs a taste of love.

#19586 Why do people get so offended once the expression "white cis-gender heterosexual male" is used. It's not an insult lol. It just means that a person hasn't experienced some of the discrimination other minorities have endured, therefore, is unable to truly understand where they're coming from. If you are white in the US, you don't experience racism as much as other groups. If you are cis-genderand heterosexual, you don't experience first hand homophobia and transphobia. If you are male, people don't tell you that you are incapable of doing something because of your gender. Thats just the truth, there is no denying it. Doesn't make you a bad person at all. In fact, I'm glad you didn't go through the shit I went through, I wouldn't wish I upon another person. But it also means we view things differently. Our subconscious and conscious responds are going to differ. I, too, am ignorant of other minorities suffering, and thats just what it is. I sure as hell support other minorities I don't identify with, but I don't claim full knowledge of their experience. I will perceive, experience, and pick up on things differently than you would.
Lastly, we, minorities, do appreciate all of the support surely. But sometimes you might be wrong, and sometimes we might try to make you understand our point of view. Be open minded rather than get offended.

#19583 Free speech is not Free speech if it doesn't equally apply to everyone. That gives people the right to be complete shitheads, yes. But banning people who offend you is a direct violation of human rights. Rights and privileges are not conditional and do not depend on views a person upholds or what they preach, detestable as they might be no doubt.
I believe the first amendment is hard shielded. But I'm afraid it's only a matter of time before this country goes down the same fascist hole as the rest seeing as educated college students are petitioning to remove a division of student body they strongly dislike. The reason 1A exists - the very reason it was created in the first place - was to prevent an authoritarian state power.
Before anyone stereotypes me as another cis heterosexual white male, I am an Asian who graciously supports the right of crackpot activists like Julie Bindel to tell me I belong in a concentration camp and someone who doesn't feel their world has been ended because some racist fuckwit passed a rude comment about me in a PUBLIC space.
