#19796 I'm really struggling with school lately. I can't seem to focus in my classes or whenever I'm doing homework. It sucks because I wasn't like this in highschool or early years of college and it's progressively gotten worse every year (I'm a junior now). I'm not sure if it's because I'm just actually a terrible student or I actually have some form of ADHD. I feel like I have a 5 second attention span and it's scary because I don't want to fail any of my classes. It's a vicious cycle: get distracted, get stressed out because I have so much left to do, re-focus, and repeat. It's just really frustrating not being able to get anything done. So I guess if any of you have advice or tips to help stay focused it'd be much appreciated. I already turn off my phone while doing homework and do my homework offline as much as possible.

#19793 I have a severe medical condition that has requied numerous procedures in the past several years yet am still at high risk for dying fue to the nature of the condition. I absolutely despise it when people call me brave for going through all that I have and saying they dont think they could handle it if they were in my position. I am not brave. I have no choice, it's either do what the doctors say, or die. I isolate myself from others in order to minimize the impact my passing would cause should the risk actualize. With every move and new small group of friends that I have, I somehow am quickly respected and seen as wise for always being calm and level headed no matter how bad a situation is.
The reality is I live in terror and under constant stress because of this condition. Every time a new health issue crops up, it takes away a bit of hope from me. It leaves me wondering if its even worth continuing fighting this condition and if I just wouldn't be better off letting myself succumb to it. Hell I have to get a well paying job with great benefits just to be able to hope to afford to take care of myself and the condition. The one thing I need most is someone to be there for me to help me through it all. My problem is, how could I possibly live with myself by letting someone elsen houlder some of the stress? That just seems too unfair and unjust to ask of someone to deal with least, of all a SO that I would care for and love. I just feel totally alone and as if im being suffocated by all this plus school and not have anyone to help me. When youre in this position, its not bravery, its just survival. I have no idea what to do.

#19792 I'm in engineering and it seems obvious to me that society needs both engineering majors and liberal arts majors. Sorry that many engineering students be trippin over some dumb shit; I apologize on their behalf.

#19791 I am the one who always tells others that you gotta be mentally strong when your crush doesn't like you back and be patient for the right person. But when this issue comes to me, it corrodes me from the inside, and I'm breaking apart.
