#20437 Earlier I made a post and used a pretty poor choice of words (autism). That was more of an emotionally driven post. What I really mean to say is that there really are certain men that want to watch the world burn, not to quote Alfred. These men will perversely use whatever ideology is convenient for them to manipulate the weak-minded and those in vulnerable circumstances to carry out their violent acts. If Islam didn't exist, I believe such men/women would simply use some other set of beliefs as an excuse to carry out acts as they have. I wouldn't be surprised if those fuckers in charge found some atheistic set of beliefs to justify terrorist acts.

#20429 I think we should come together as a Purdue community and have a vigil, or get together and have some time to reflect, pray, etc for all of the issues as the world is seemingly falling apart. I think we should all reflect, pray, etc. on the terrorist attacks in France, Lebanon, the Russian airliner, and more. We should also have time for the Japan earthquakes, and anything else I may have missed. I am only one person, but I believe through a community effort we could put our differences aside for a while to help the areas of the world that are hurting right now. Does anyone know if any student organizations are already organizing something?

#20434 I'm sure all Muslims are equally disgusted by terror attacks carried out in the name of Islam.

#20431 What happened in Paris is terrible, but do people even realize ISIS has already killed over 170,000 people in the middle east? They kill more the number in the Paris attacks every single day in that part of the world. They're committing genocide against shiites, christians, druids, kurds, and the list goes on and on. It actually bothers me to see others only react to the Paris bombings and changing their profile pictures to the flag filter. This sort of thing I'd happening every day to those marginalized groups but there's no outrage over it. No one cares.
