#22005 I have many trans friends who I have talked with at great length about their struggles during their transitions and other issues within the trans community and these conversations have been insightful and open. That being said, I am getting pretty pissed off with certain trans "celebrities" who view any commentary about anything even remotely trans as slanderous and hateful.
If someone confesses that they've never met a trans person, that doesn't mean that they have the ability to clock all trans people and view the trans community as some kind of specimen under a microscope. It should be considered an opportunity to educate. If you don't want to educate others about the trans community, quit announcing that you're trans. The rest of us in the LGBT community have had to work very hard against marginalization, so to act as though it's a rejection against some kind of bullshit privilege when someone innocently comes to you seeking an insight to your world, you should be honored that they don't want to be ignorant. The rest of us have had to do this for years; you're no different. Don't like it? Get out of my rainbow.

#22004 I hate it when people say the best way to meet people is to go to events on campus. That's terrible advice because whenever I go to an event everybody goes to the event with their friends and you can't meet anybody there.
