#22131 I realize that the only thing, the thin veneer keeping me from falling into despair and quitting is the fact that there are too many of the ones I love who need a guiding light out their darkness. Though I want so badly to surrender, to quit and wallow forever. Could I be forgiven for succumbing to sloth? Would my "lost ships" survive? Or would my lapse cause he ruination of those I hold dear? I don't think I can take that risk.

#22130 I think people don't realize how crazy I am. I've become really good at acting normal and that everyone don't realize how much of a psycho I am deep down. I've been doing a good job of staying away from other people though and only a few people at college knows my other side. I think sometimes I'm so far off I scare myself, like maybe I'm even dangerous to other people.

#22129 I firmly believe that Peyton Manning cheated on his wife, and I have more reason than most to believe the rumors... I know the man who fronted his multi-million dollar media buy-out to keep the major news outlets quiet.

#22128 Hey, there. I just wanted to say that I am so very sorry for hurting you. I never meant to do that to you, and I've been living with the guilt of ruining our friendship ever since. I know that you don't read Purdue Confessions, or, at least, I never realized that you did when we were friends. But if by some chance you do see this and you figure out it was from me, then would you like to reconcile? It's been a few months since we last talked. I don't really expect us to be friends again, but I would like to see you one more time and ask for your forgiveness before you graduate in May. I'm sorry for what I did.
Have a blessed life.
-Frozen Thunder.

#22127 @ 22118 Why is everybody telling the OP that he cheated? I thought you couldn't give consent when you're drunk. He was raped right? Oh wait oh wait I forgot, sorry, that only applies to women.

#22126 I am so frustrated by the hypocrisy present in social justice movements and their reactionary counter-movements. They seem divisive at the core, unwilling to meet each other halfway and acknowledge that both sides have legitimate concerns.
Example is in education - many activists will point out the disparity between the average funding of predominately black and white schools, this being a very legitimate concern. They point out the privileges that a white person is afforded simply for being white, and protest against "systematic racism." But at the same time, these activists are often unwilling to acknowledge or even completely unaware of their own privileges. African-American students are awarded 230 "bonus points" on their SAT scores, simply because of their race. Hispanic students are awarded 180 points, and Asian-Americans are actually penalized 50 points because of their race! Is this not a clear example of "systematic racism?" The activists protest the issues that affect them, while being unaware of the current policies in place to address said issues!
On the other side, "white rights activists" will argue against affirmative action and deny that white privilege exists in this country. They take the opposite stance on every issue out of principle, and it ultimately creates resentment and furthers division between these people. Both sides have their token others/"allies" that parrot the majority, but are not allowed to point out the contradictions. Nobody is allowed to point out the contradictions. It's like a religion.
I'm not saying that every activist is a hypocrite, or that I think these issues do not matter. But I am tired of people claiming to "fight for equality" when they only seem interested in retaining or gaining privileges over others. People are so aware of the problems that affect them, but not willing to acknowledge any of their privileges. I am expecting to be criticized for this post.. but I don't care. Identity politics are creating more division than anything else... Making people hyper aware of race/sex/orientation/gender. If we want equality, we have to be willing to work together.

#22125 I'm at a cross roads. In high school, my mom said she wasn't going to help me go to school, so I pushed it off in an attempt to find work in other places. I tired the Army, but got discharged in bct for having depression. I tried industrial work, while galvanizing pivots, it almost killed me. I'm currently security getting paid $16hr. I really want to go into mechanical and/or aerospace engineering, but looking at the requirements it seems like I'll be doing school until I'm 32 or older (being 26 now). Should I keep trying for it, or just look into another major? Honestly all I'm really missing is 2 years of a foreign language before I could get in
