I went to Kroger before Valentine's Day and I was smelling all of the beautiful flowers, hoping that I would get a small bouquet the next day from my partner of 5 1/2 years. My partner has never missed giving me flowers on Valentine's Day and he knows I LOVE getting flowers, but there were none the next day. Actually there was nothing at all - and I got him many little gifts (like we usually do). I totally pretended not to care. I think what's worse than being single on Valentine's Day is being completely taken and not feeling special when girls all around you are being spoiled. And I know that flowers don't make or break a Valentine's Day, but it does mean a lot to me, he knows that, and I don't get them any other time of the year either. Am I overreacting? Should I be worried? I don't want to hate Valentine's Day, and I definitely don't want anyone to tell me how stupid Valentine's Day is or anything like that because I honestly love that specific day. I just feel confused and frustrated. (No our relationship is not materialistic, we just have always gotten each other nice little gifts on specific days like this)
