#22446 I'm a girl who lifts. I count my numbers, I work hard, and am pretty dedicated in the gym. I've been told my body looks pretty great (No, not cat calling just by a couple good guy friends). I'm kind of lean, but I like to build muscle yet I still have some shoulder striations. Unfortunately, my face does not meet up to par with the rest of me. It just doesn't fit. I know it's genetics, but hell, knowing these other things will anyone truly think I'm somewhat decent looking (face wise)? Probably not.
Confession - I insult myself a lot. I can't seem to stop. I've accepted how I look body wise though. A person told me to have more confidence in myself too. I wish I could. Slowly, but surely it will build up.

#22445 I've been gone from the social scene for too long now, I can't get over this anxiety I have for going out. I just want to talk to new girls and find someone to fall asleep next to at night. How do I get myself out there again?

#22444 I am probably missing the entire point of 22442's confession. But do you really need a professional telling you that you are mentally ill to make your mental illness valid? If you wake up every morning thinking about suicide, that is obviously not in a healthy state. If you find a friend with a lot of self-harm marks, they are probably not in a healthy state. If you find yourself not eating, sleeping, showering, avoiding social contact for a period of time, you obviously are in a depressive episode. I think it is more important that you ensure your own safety, and those people surrounding you. Don't tell your unprofessionally-diagnosed mentally unwell friends or family to snap out of it because there isn't a psychiatrist to diagnose them. Do you really want to wait till when they are in a hospital for organ failure or suicide attempt to figure out that, oh my god, I should have known this all along? Self-diagnosis may or may not be accurate, but I think the amount of attention it brings is worthy of the potentially invalidations of that specific mental illness. If someone goes so far as self-diagnosis, they are most definitely in pain and need help. If you are not a neurotypical person, you of all people should understand that pain, stop worrying about the possibly not-even-real effect of invalidating your mental illness and go help.
Sincerely,
Someone who chose to ignore other's unprofessional diagnoses and ended up in a mental hospital

#22443 My best friend came out recently, but I'm still head over heels for her. Any tips on how to win her back over? She doesn't act gay or bi and I think she's just doing it for attention, like kissing girls at parties.

#22442 Please don't self diagnose yourself with random mental disorders. Not only are you probably wrong, but it discredits the people who actually suffer from these illnesses. Really, this should all be common sense.
