Don't worry, it's not because I'm some kind of anachronistic bigot with views on foreign policy so hawkish they'd make "Dubya" blush, nor is it because I empathize with a take on economics so far outside of normative reality that it has to be spelled with an "R" - I could pick either of the republican frontrunners for that.

Instead, it's because I see a Trump candidacy as a legitimate means of forcing the Republican party to update itself to better represent its modernizing base (and in-so-doing) resolve some of the embroiled political gridlock in Washington which stems from the chasmic differences in ideology across the aisle -- imagine a 2020 republican candidate who'd openly support measures against climate change!

So, yes, I'll be voting for Trump in the primary (not the general), because as divisive as he is, as an issues candidate I believe he has the potential for bringing about real, positive change in the US political landscape.

#22660 If Hillary gets nominated, I am not going to vote for her in the general election because she is a woman. But that is not bbecause I think women are less competent than men. Women are not intellectually inferior to men, although physically they certainly are. It is not in a woman's best interest to rule men. It puts her in a very unhappy position and I do not believe any good woman would want that position. I am not against women holding other leadership positions in Congress, the Senate, etc and I vote for them. But a commander-in-chief of the military? A woman? I say it is unspeakable.
