#22701 I'm a girl who's sort of (key words: sort of) a nerd. I watch anime occasionally, frequent reddit, play a lot of video games, am a huge star wars/doctor who/lord of the rings fan, etc. I've pretended to be clueless ("what's a reddit? Oh, sounds weird, I like instagram") whenever a guy mentions something nerdy because all the openly nerdy guys I've met so far(!!!) are creepy as heck (read: "nice guys" who wear fedoras unironically and look/smell like they haven't showered in weeks) and I don't want to be associated with them or encourage them. I don't even openly express my enjoyment of something nerdy in front of a normal, non-creepy friend anymore because somehow a creepy guy always manages to catch wind of it and then I feel that much less safe walking around campus.
