#23524 This is an embarrassment for me to talk to anyone of my friends or family to talk about, but I’m broke. Flat broke, so broke I will not make rent this month. I made it work last year to the point where I could at least get a summer job. However this isn’t the case this year.

I had a job at the beginning of the year, however with 15 credits of 400 and 500 levels classes I had to take this semester, I was beginning to fail those classes because I was working 20-25 hours and had no time to study. I asked for less hours, but they denied me because they were already short staffed, so I thought it was best just to quit. Adding the fact, that I was involved in a research project that I would have to leave campus for three to four days on short notice (it happened three times this year), getting a job was on the back on my mind, I wanted to keep my grades up.

I went to financial aid to ask to them to increase my loan money and I was denied, even when I told them I couldn’t make rent for the month. They essentially said it was not their problem (not exact words, but this is the message I took from it). I went to my bank to ask for an extension to my credit card and they denied me.

I am afraid I’m going to get evicted and have to live on the streets soon. I’m too embarrassed to tell anyone one of my friends or my family. It isn’t like my parents will help me out anyways considering they haven’t loaned me money in four years and wouldn’t even loan me money to drive home for Easter or Spring Break. I don’t know what to do anymore. I need help and have no clue who to turn to.
