#23729 @ 23728 There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with your opinion. Don’t ever be afraid to live by it. The fact is that members of a society in fact do not owe each other anything. There is nothing “good” about sacrificing one person’s life for another. Never has been and never will be. If someone acts out of his own free will to sacrifice his life for another person, he is certainly free to do so but it wouldn’t necessarily make him a good person. Even the whole “equal opportunity” idea has the same problem. The fact is that the only way to give “opportunities” to someone is to take something from someone else. What’s sad is that your opinion is unpopular. So just keep doing what you’re doing man, don’t ever sacrifice your life for someone else’s, and don’t ever sacrifice someone else’s life for yours.

#23728 I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I will state it anyways. My brother is a big Bernie fan and likes to go around preaching about Reaganomics and old people ruining the country and on and on and on. He also believes that America should have all these social programs and every gets help or whatever else you want to call it. Everytime I have this argument with him, I always circle it back to one thing: why should I care about what anyone else has or doesn't have but myself and why should I care about them in general. Kind of like the "what have they ever done for me" mentality. I love it when the argument gets to this point because he can't make any argument against the point other than "you should be a good human being". The thing is I am being a good human being, just for myself. It's a dog-eat-dog-world out there folks.

#23725 Why do so many Americans go apeshit when they hear the terms socialism or communism? It's almost like your schools and society make you think those ideologies are inherently bad when in reality they are just like any other political ideology with strengths and flaws and made with the goal of having a better society.
