#21963 I think religion is good cause it gives people a reason or purpose of existance and make us not feel alone in the universe. Plus humans feel the need to blame others in a higher position for their mistakes (ie. he made me that way, or he told me to do it). As far as the technical stuff like age of the universe, is all in how you interpret the words of the bible. Who says the big bang wasn't the first day of God creating the universe? God's "day" isn't our 24 hours, why can't gods day be 10 million earth years? He exists without laws or time... If light is the fastest particle, then why can we see Galaxies 100 million+ light years away? if you believe he created us, then he created us with curious scientific minds and knew we couldnt believe that we came from a snap of the fingers, so why not make up a story line (from big bang to present day) to how we became us? As far as the bible goes, it is a book to help guide people through a good healthy life and sets very good rules and standards. In the end it is all up to you to decide what type of life you want to live and believe. God doesn't force you to believe, he just wants you to, so you can be happy for all eternity. If you don't believe that and you're still happy, that's fine too.
