#25221 In selfies I look either like a short haired girl, a man in his late 30s with bad sleep deprivation, a male I'm his early 20s, or a child.

#25218 For anyone who works at the library:
Is there any thing that can be done to shut people up on the "quiet floors?" Especially the 4th floor. Apart from confronting?
Like seriously? If you want to videochat, go do it elsewhere, like a coffee shop or the 1st floor. I have a thesis to write!

MRW when my staunchly republican family member sends me some propaganda about a denmark teacher who makes $60,000/yr and complains that their socialst government is an example of why we shouldn't elect a democratic socialist as president.
(Bare in mind I do not advocate that US go full socialist but that there are ways social programs have helped and can further help the economy in the US.)
The average teacher in the US probably makes no more than about $37,000/yr but pays higher taxes than the top managers and CEOs of wealthy companies. The same companies and financial groups who were bailed out by taxpayers ($700billion) after the recession now make millions in profits but pay almost nothing in taxes. They hide their money in off shore accounts and literally steal from the middle class. These fat pigs like the Koch brothers will spend as much money as they have to to promote the idea that they aren't the ones at fault its the people asking for handouts, but by that logic they are blaming themselves because they received the largest government handout in American history. now they use that money (our money) to support candidates and representatives who would exploit resources like cheap labor, cutting benefits for employees (including veterans) cut funding to programs that are designed to be low cost and yield high benefits in health care. All just so they can save a buck.
Right now about 2/3 of the taxes we already pay go to Medicare and Medicaid (two social programs that have had a huge impact on improving the quality, funding, and delivery of healthcare services to the uninsured and underinsured people in the US.) But, you and I and everyone else still pay the highest insurance premiums of any developed nation. (So free healthcare is actually very attainable because we already pay for it!!). Why does Medicare and Medicaid cost so much? Nearly 60% of the money you pay to these programs goes directly to the pharmaceutical companies who spend thousands on research and development and millions in advertising (and there are currently no laws or regulations that hold these companies accountable when they lose millions on investments in research, the taxpayer covers it). Tell me how capitalistic is it to have a business get a government mandated cashflow?? Workers productivity in the US has almost tripled in the last 30 or 40 years, yet minimum wages have only increased on average by 20%. Meanwhile colleges continue to hike up tuition every year so they can buy new jerseys and football stadiums. People who are fighting for a living wage are not lazy highschool students trying to pay for gas so they can drive mom and dad's car, they are people who did not have a fall back when they were let go, lost their 401k's because the company they worked for went bankrupt. But yeah, no its easier to scapegoat the blacks, the mexicans, and the middle easterners. Its easier to blame the poor for being poor than it is to blame the rich for being corrupt and greedy.
But all our problems will be solved if we build a f#$%ing wall between us and the rest of the world, if we ship our troops over to Syria and "carpet bomb them[Isis] into oblivion" all our problems will be solved if we loosen the very restrictions that are in place to prevent another economic crash. No, its better to live in fear of what we might accomplish as a unified nation and to continue living divided on every issue because some CEO has his hand up a politicians ass.
Bernie Sanders' political platform is not based on trying to give away free stuff at the cost of taxpayers. His platform is built on the revolutionary idea that we should elect the smartest candidates, not the richest.
the way I see it:
Trump 2016.... economic collapse, and WW3, RED DAWN!!! Wolverines!!!!!
Cruz 2016.... economy remains the same, with same downward spiral to the next recession, most definitely endless winnable war with which ever middle eastern country has the cheapest oil. cutting of government programs like the Affordable Care Act (millions become uninsured overnight and lose benefits of care they were receiving.) downsizing of social security, medicare, medicaid. news paper headlines read "The US sees highest death rate and poverty line of any developed nation"
Hillary 2016..... slooooww sloow change, she's still waiting for the checks to clear.
Bernie 2016.... a politcal revolution not seen anywhere else in the world, the aftermath? peace and prosperity for all not just the top 1%

#25216 I work at a local restaurant in town and witnessed something so terrible yesterday. I waited on a grandfather and his college aged grandson. The WHOLE meal the grandson was on his phone, even when I took their orders. This poor grandpa just sat there and essentially ate his whole meal alone. I hope that the grandson sees this post and realizes it was him. You seem to be the most rude and disrespectful "man" I have ever waited on. Set down your stupid iPhone and pay attention to the things that really matter.

#25214 It's so nerve racking to talk to the opposite sex, especially when you've been out of the game for so long. I feel like I'm in high school all over again.
